If you are not sure whether you are an improver or intermediate, use this page to decide.  Be honest with yourself.  

(1)  PLAYING CHORDS:

• Improver

I can play C, G7, F and Am but struggle with some other chords e.g. Em and Dm.  I sometimes struggle with quick chord changes.

• Intermediate

I can play several chords including Em, Dm, E7, G and my chord changes are quite quick most of the time.

(2)  STRUMMING THE UKULELE:

• Improver

I can strum up and down and stay on the beat most of the time, but struggle when playing a new song.

• Intermediate

I can strum up and down at various tempos confidently and can add emphasis to some beats.  

​

(3)  ACCURACY:

• Improver

I can remember and play the basic chords but sometimes they don't sound quite right e.g. buzzing from some strings, slow or inaccurate  chord changes.

​

• Intermediate

I can play several chords accurately and all the strings are producing a clean sound.  I hold the ukulele correctly and keep my wrist low when playing.
